Proteins

Grass-Fed Beef

The foundation of our recipe starts with locally sourced beef. Beef is a complete protein naturally rich in essential amino acids, iron, zinc, and vitamin B12.

Cage-Free Chicken

Naturally rich in niacin and vitamin B6, chicken provides a second source of complete protein. We source our chicken from a family-owned butcher in New York’s East Village, using cage-free, all-natural chicken raised without antibiotics.

Wild-Caught Whitefish

Wild-caught whitefish provides a lean source of complete protein along with naturally occurring selenium, iodine, and vitamin B12. Alongside beef and chicken, it adds another complete protein source and contributes to a diverse amino acid profile.

Chicken Gizzards

Chicken gizzard is a lean, protein-rich muscular organ that provides essential amino acids along with naturally occurring iron, zinc, and B vitamins.

Wild-Caught Sardines

Wild-caught sardines were chosen for a different reason than our whitefish. Naturally rich in EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, and calcium, they contribute nutrients that are difficult to obtain from our other protein sources alone.

organic cage-free eggs

Organic Cage-Free Eggs

Whole eggs provide choline, lutein, zeaxanthin, selenium, and vitamin D.

Oysters

Oysters are one of nature’s most concentrated whole-food sources of zinc, making them a key ingredient in our recipe.

Chicken Liver

Chicken liver is a nutrient-dense organ meat that provides concentrated amounts of vitamin B12, vitamin A, folate, iron, and copper.

Beef Heart

Beef heart is a protein-rich muscular organ that provides naturally occurring taurine and CoQ10, along with iron, zinc, and B vitamins.

Beef Kidney

Beef kidney is particularly rich in riboflavin (vitamin B2) and also provides selenium, vitamin B12, and iron. Its distinct nutrient profile is one of the reasons we include a variety of organ meats in our recipe.

Beef Liver

Beef liver is a highly nutrient-dense organ meat, providing concentrated amounts of vitamin A, vitamin B12, riboflavin, copper, iron, and choline.

Vegetables & Fruits

Carrots

Carrots are naturally rich in carotenoids, partiularly beta-carotene.

Kale

Kale is one of the most nutrient-dense leafy greens, providing vitamins A, C, and K, antioxidants, and fiber.

Broccoli

We include broccoli as a cruciferous vegetable, a family known for its naturally occurring glucosinolates. It also contributes vitamin C, vitamin K, and fiber to the recipe.

Green Beans

Green beans provide vitamin K, folate, and manganese.

Blueberries

Blueberries are naturally rich in anthocyanins, along with vitamin C and manganese. Their distinctive nutrient profile made them our fruit of choice.

Grains & Seeds

Rolled Oats

Oats provide soluble fiber, B vitamins, manganese, phosphorus, and magnesium. We add them late in the production process to absorb the moisture released by our whole-food ingredients. That moisture contains nutrients released from the food during cooking, so absorbing it allows us to keep those nutrients in the finished recipe rather than draining them away.

Organic Ground Flaxseed

Organic flaxseed provides fiber and manganese and is particularly rich in lignans, naturally occurring plant compounds found in high concentrations in flaxseed. We use it ground to break the seed's tough outer shell, making the nutrients inside more accessible during digestion.

Other Nutritional Essentials

Wheat Germ Oil

Wheat germ oil is an exceptionally concentrated natural source of vitamin E.

Nutritional Yeast

Nutritional yeast provides thiamine (vitamin B1), an essential B vitamin, along with other naturally occurring B vitamins.

Organic Eggshell Powder

Organic eggshell powder is a natural source of calcium that helps balance the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio in our recipe. It's a simple ingredient with a very important purpose.

Sunflower Lecithin

Sunflower lecithin is a natural source of phospholipids, including phosphatidylcholine, which provides choline—an essential nutrient in a complete diet.

Dried Kelp

Kelp is a naturally concentrated source of iodine, an essential trace mineral. Because iodine is less abundant in many land-based ingredients, kelp provides a valuable source within our diverse whole-food recipe.
